The Muslim Kaleidoscope

Alhamdulillah another Eid is here. And Muslims from all walks of life are going to celebrate with traditional costumes, food and traditions.

In Saudi Arabia the women will be mostly in black, the men in white, but the children will form a riotous rainbow of colors. In India and Pakistan sweets will be molded and fried and the Saris and Salwar Khameez’ will sparkle and blind in the sun. Africans will feast on spicy and savory stews, and their heads will be heavy with geles and gwaggoros. No matter where Muslims are tomorrow, they will be in a celebratory mood, and more likely than not wearing something really beautiful and eating something really delicious.

So please share with us your images and your experiences tomorrow. Help us join hands and have a truly global celebration. Whether it’s pictures of your nephew in his Eid best, or your cousin stuffing her face on another gulab jamun, heck if it’s your grandfather regaling everyone with stories, don’t hold back. Share, be part of a global Eid celebration and join in creating a beautiful Kaleidoscope of Eid.
