I came across this Repentance Du’a and fell in love with it. I think it’s beautiful and sincere. Many a times we truly wish to change for the better but we fall or make mistakes and sink back into those sins. This du’a acknowledges that and asks for Allah’s guidance to help us keep trying till we get it right. Because each time we pray and truly repent, we mean it in our hearts. But as human beings we are weak and sometimes we commit the sin again despite our best intentions. This du’a is there to help us persevere and keep working on our faults and our weaknesses until we finally succeed. Some people are too hard on themselves. When they try to make amends or try to be better and fail, instead of continuing to try, they just give up all together and allow themselves to fall completely into sin. Don’t. Just recite this du’a and remember that Allah tries those He loves most the hardest.

“O Allah! I seek Your forgiveness for that which I sought your repentance but to which I subsequently returned; I seek Your forgiveness from that which I rendered to You from my self, but then, I was not able to maintain faithfully; and, I seek Your forgiveness from that by which I claimed I desired your Face but my heart became corrupted with that which I did.”

May Allah guide us, forgive us our sins and help us pass our tests. Amin.
