What exactly are vitamins and what happens when we don’t get enough? Vitamins are essential elements for optimal body functioning that our body can’t make on it’s own. Mostly, they are derived from the food we eat such as fruits and vegetables. In today’s world of fast food, and antibiotic laden meat, most people do not eat a well-balanced diet and as a result are often lacking in key vitamins. Taking a daily multivitamin is the only way to be sure that you are getting all the vitamins you need in sufficient quantities.
